You can mark your volume knob - whatever you use to control the volume of your speakers for the various different monitoring levels for the future. You will be surprised and amazed at how accurate your ears will be at achieving the perfect sound at the perfect loudness. If you calibrate monitors FIRST, the rest is AUTOMATIC. whatever you want for your delivery material. Mixing or mastering for streaming? No problem! Use the same steps to calibrate your monitors to -16, -14, -12. Music with less content - solo voice or instrument, or just a few instruments, or various light classical music, for example, will also come in at less than -24. Trust your ears and let it be the "right" loudness. If you turn dialog up to reach the -24 LUFS it will be too loud. The interesting thing is that your ears will set the appropriate loudness based on the content of the material. Your ears will do the work for you - your target level will be hit nearly exactly!!Ħ. Loud full mixes come in within less than +-1 dB away from -24 LUFS. I play the various songs all adjusted for -24 LUFS and turn up/down my speakers until it sounds "right" "full" "loud but not too loud"ĥ.
